Kemper Profiler history & Kemper Profiler Australia
Interestingly, Kemper Profiler started all the way back in the mid-1980’s (not that long ago for some of us at Coleman's Music:) when Christoph Kemper owner and founder of Kemper Profile was writing code on his computer, a Sinclair ZX Spectrum which is kind of like a Commodore 64 - remember those! Through years of commitment and passion, Christoph Kemper then developed the Access Virus series synthesizer. Since the development of his iconic synth design, Christoph went on to tackle the ultimate challenge, truly digitising a tube amplifier tone, warmth and sound - not one for the faint hearted that's for sure!
But unlike many who failed to make anything even close to a valve amp, Kemper's profiling process was unique for modelling amps and pre-amps circuits. Tube amps not only unique because of their distortion curve, but also all of the surrounding circuit that adds noise, harmonics and unwanted loses. Yup, analogue tube amps have lots of defects, but for us humans, that's what makes them sound warm and gorgeous!
And that's the crux of tube simulation, you actually want the problems and noise to create a warmer, more harmonic and therefore dynamic sounds. And then, every tube amp is different, so trying to recreate all of the classic is something only a few master - as Christoph Kemper has done over the last 20 or so years.
Are Kemper Profiler Amps & Stage Pedals good value?
If you're looking at Kemper amps or effects, we would imagine that you know what it is. Kind of like shopping for a Mercedes-Benz. Kemper gear is best in class and so when it comes to the question - is Kemper gear worth it? Then, absolutely yes. It is not gear you will change in a month or year. It's gear that you will have for a lifetime and craft your own unique sounds and tones from. Of course, you can pull up all of the best amp and cab sounds ever, but it's up to you.
Personally we love that it's such a good and versatile combo amp that can sound like an amp stack, and all of the firmware updates and software updates are included we believe. It's simply one of the world's best profiling amp options, and in our opinions, is great value guitar rig as it does everything most guitarists and bassist need. It's an all-in-one solution that has a power amp (inc a bass amp) and effects that looks, and sounds like no other across a load of guitar amp profiles, including the famous Marshall JCM800 beast mode!
Here's the top 3 things we love about Kemper Profiler gear as one of the world's best, leading-edge digital guitar amplifier makers:
1. Discover your own tones:
A game-changer by guitarists, unlike many other modelling amplifiers and effect, Kemper Profiler gear lets you find your own voice, not be tied into the presets of the designer. This alone is reason enough to choose Kemper gear over others in our opinions for electric guitar and bass guitar gigs and recording - especially when paired with the remote foot switch that has assignable functions too.2. Make and record music quicker in the studio:
3. Makes gigging a breeze for electric guitarists:
Where are Kemper Profiler Amps & Kemper Stage Pedals made?
Germany, and that's why quality is second to none! Like Porsche, Siemens, and loads of the worlds best engineering and products, the Kemper Profiling Amplifier and amplifier profiles are as close to the exact tones of many famous and boutique amps, as they come. There's simply no other brand or product that has done what Mr. Kemper's Profiler has - and is still doing!
Are Kemper Profiler Amp & Stage Pedals good for blues, rock and metal?
Absolutely, in fact with the studio basic features and live-performance features, you can dial in some of the world's best guitar and bass tones and effects with a single button. We also forgot to mention, with the KEMPER Power Kabinet 200w with you can record or gig with any band, no matter style!
The Kemper Kabinet™ is especially made for the PROFILER amp with the Kemper Kone™ loudspeaker and what's called "speaker tone mining technology" developed by KEMPER profiler to digitally "imprint“ various speaker characteristics into one cabinet. The Kemper Kone is a 12“ full range speaker in a speaker cabinet designed exclusively by Celestion for KEMPER. It's controlled by KEMPER’s DSP using a dedicated DSP algorithm. It also sounds very techy, and it is, but dang Kemper's amp profiling technology sounds good no matter if you are running through a cab, direct output or monitor output!
