The GUILD S-100 Kim Thayil Polara in Vintage White is a meticulously crafted tribute to Kim’s iconic ’78 S-100. Featuring a mahogany body and neck with Guild's distinctive 70’s large headstock, this guitar reflects the essence of Kim’s favorite features.
Honoring the legacy of Soundgarden, this model includes a “King Animal” truss rod cover and a “Badmotorfinger” signature back cover, celebrating their iconic 1991 and 2012 albums. These grunge-era symbols pay homage to Kim and his bandmates.
Additional features include a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays, a Tune-o-Matic bridge, and a compensated stop bar tailpiece. The guitar is available in a stunning Vintage White gloss finish with gold hardware.
Per Kim’s request, the signature model includes Grover Original Rotomatics® tuners, which are known for their stability and ease of use and are standard on vintage S-100 Polara models.
Equipped with Guild HB-1 humbuckers with Alnico II magnets, this guitar captures the warm yet articulate timbre of the 70’s S-100 Polaras.
