The Ibanez RG1XXV 25th Anniversary is a limited-edition collector’s dream and a shredder’s weapon of choice, created to commemorate 25 years of the iconic RG series. Released in 2012 only, this standout model pays tribute to the legendary 1987 RG550, blending vintage aesthetics with modern high-performance features.
This preloved RG1XXV is in excellent condition and finished in eye-searing Fluorescent Yellow, a nod to the bold, neon-soaked designs of the late ‘80s. Even the headstock, sharktooth inlays, pickup bobbins, and knobs match the body color, giving it an unmistakable stage presence.
Made in Indonesia at the Premium line facility, with oversight from experienced Japanese luthiers from FujiGen, the RG1XXV offers top-tier construction and attention to detail. The basswood body is paired with a lightning-fast 5-piece maple/walnut Wizard neck, reinforced with KTS titanium rods (on most models), and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard adorned with matching sharktooth inlays.
Under the hood, it packs a DiMarzio/Ibanez HSH pickup configuration, delivering a massive range of tones from searing leads to tight rhythm crunch and glassy cleans. The Edge Zero II double-locking tremolo system with ZPS tuning stabilizer provides rock-solid tuning and expressive dive-bombs without compromise.
