The Taylor Gold Label 814e Koa is a highly limited, premium acoustic-electric guitar designed by master luthier Andy Powers to deliver a new sonic experience—one that evokes the rich, seasoned warmth of a vintage instrument while pushing the boundaries of modern acoustic performance.
At its core is the brand-new Super Auditorium body shape, a refined evolution of Taylor's Grand Auditorium. With slightly wider contours, this shape draws out enhanced low-end warmth, greater projection, and bold midrange character, all while retaining Taylor’s signature articulation and balance.
This exquisite model pairs Hawaiian koa back and sides with a torrefied Sitka spruce top, giving it a mature, broken-in sound right out of the case. Inside, a custom fanned version of V-Class bracing boosts volume and sustain while maintaining clarity and dynamic control across the entire frequency range.
Adding to the tonal richness is a new long-tenon neck joint, improving sonic transfer for greater resonance and making neck resets and adjustments easier than ever. Plugged in, the LR Baggs Element VTC electronics capture every nuance with studio-quality fidelity, making this a world-class instrument both on stage and in the studio.
Visually, the 814e Koa is equally stunning, with striking koa grain, a full-body gloss finish, Continental fretboard inlays, a Honduran rosewood bridge, grained ivoroid binding, and antique chrome Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons—all housed in a deluxe Taylor hardshell case with British Cocoa exterior.
